BLISTERS - A RARE COMMONALITY BETWEEN SUNDAY LEAGUE AND PREMIER LEAGUE
Blisters are often laughed off as a minor inconvenience, but in reality stop you from performing at your best. Prevention is always better than cure, with the below detailing how to prevent blisters from occurring - keep an eye out for some AP Tips along the way.

THE CAUSE:
Blisters in football generally arise due to the friction created between your feet and boots, most prominently when playing on artificial surfaces. The tension caused by turning sharply, accelerating, and decelerating builds up leading to skin tears.

THE WHY:
Worn or Ill-fitting Boots
Making sure your boots are refreshed season upon season, that they fit accurately, and that they are suited to the turf you are playing on, lays the foundations for blister prevention.
AP TIPS -
Measure your feet to find an accurate boot sizing (most of us haven’t since junior football).
Find a style of boot that suits your foot type (Nike Phantoms are best for those with wider feet).

Sock Quality
Very often standard, old-school football socks fit poorly around the sole and heel of the foot. Ensuring you use a good quality football-specific grip socks will almost certainly prevent blisters.

Damp Feet
Sometimes unpreventable, but trapped moisture can lead to blisters. The moisture softens the skin resulting in easier tears. British weather doesn't always enable this but by having grip socks you can minimise the impacts of damp feet.

AP TIP - Warm up in different socks to the ones you will play in to reduce sweat and moisture during the later periods of the game.

THE PREVENTION:

AP grip socks are designed to prevent blisters.

Unlike most who adopt a circular grip pattern, our arrow shape design flows with the foots momentum within the boot, reducing the dreaded foot slide and the 'blister causing' friction.

The Minor details distinguish the average from the best. Adding our grip socks to your kit bag will help assist your game.
